On Friday, Chris, Jillian, Carleigh and I went to Jillian's schools Fall Festival. It was fun. Took me back to my Fall Frolics at Chaplewood!

Saturday, Mom, Jillian, Carleigh and I went to Beef and Boards and saw Winnie the Pooh. It didn't really keep either girls attention. Now, Jillian had seen it already the week before, but said on the way home she thought it was boring both times. It had some funny parts though.

Later that night, Chris and I went to Sidelines to watch a band named Recoil. They were good, very loud though. Or maybe I am just getting old. LOL. It was nice to get out with Chris though for a little bit.

Today, Rhianna came over and hung out with us and the girls. It was good seeing her. Jillian wanted to have a tea party. Which ended up being a tea party picnic of sorts. It was very cute watching Jillian get it all ready and pass out the food and tea. She had very specific rules on who could pass out the cookies and cupcakes, etc.

I just took this picture below because it was just too cute to me. Them actually getting along. LOL.
Pretty sure the girls and I are going to go to Red Bud for Thanksgiving. It will be exhausting for us, but I really feel like I need to go see granny. After her birthday party & seeing her laying on the couch when I left, I'm in fear that this may be her last Thanksgiving. Although, I have been thinking that for the last few years. Thanksgiving has never been much of a holiday for Chris and I, so I figure why not!. Chris will just stay home with Sparky. I think my mom is going with us too. I'm sure we will have a good time.

Well, summer is over & fall is definitely in the air! We did so much this summer and I didn't blog about many of them!  Although, I'm not quite sure anyone even looks, I like to use it as a journal. We did too many things over the summer to even try and type about now. I may go back and write about some of those things, eventually.
Recently, we drove over to Hoopeston Illinois to celebrate my grandma's 87th birthday party. It was a good time. The girls seemed to enjoy themselves and they seem to really love Granny.
I am thinking about going to Red Bud for Thanksgiving, but my car is acting up, so it just depends on my car and finances. It was good to see my family especially Granny!!
Chris and I met Tony and some others downtown to do a "bike" outing on something called Handlebar Indy last weekend. It is pretty much  a bar on bicycle. It was cold when we started but warmed up & was quite a bit of fun! We biked around downtown Indy for about 2 hours.
Sunday, the girls and I went to the Children's Museum Haunted House, with the lights on, of course. Jillian was still scared, but Carleigh just walked through it with no problems. If I went to point something out to Carleigh, Jillian would grab me, stick her head in my back side and cry that she didn't want to see it. LOl. It is amazing the difference in those 2 girls. Then we went to Mark and Annie's for a little Halloween get together. It was a good time. Hopefully, sometime in the spring, we can go over there again & go fishing. Carleigh seems to love Annie.
Thursday was Halloween, but the weather was so bad here, Trick or Treating got rescheduled to Friday November 1. So, we went Trick or Treating over in Ellen's neighborhood, which we have done the last few years. Jillian was a cheerleader and Carleigh was a pink cat. We went over to mom and dad's for a little bit afterwards.

Saturday, Jillian went to Pooh at Beef N Boards with her Girl Scout troop. When she got home, we went over to Shannon's so Alvin could look at my car & try to figure out what is wrong with it. Hopefully, it is just a sensor, fingers crossed! After we left there, we went to Pizza Hut. Jillian was good, as usual, Carleigh was good as far as good goes for her. LOL.
Today, the girls and I went to see Disney Junior Live downtown. The shows were cute & it kept Carleigh's attention for the most part. Every souvenir was expensive. Thankfully, the girls were ok with just getting sno cone cups. (they were $12 each though, but that was somewhat cheap).

Then we came home and just hung out. Time changed last night and it worked at getting Carleigh to sleep. She fell asleep before Jillian did and that doesn't happen EVER!!!!

July 1 week

What a week!! I had the whole week off, but still feel like I need another one off!
Monday was a little laid back. I went to lunch with Shannon & ran some errands.
Tuesday, Jillian & I went to Kings Island
We had a good time. When we left, we met my friend, Holly, that lives close to Kings Island for dinner.
Wednesday, I went through the girls room & got rid of their toys to decide what to keep & what to put in a garage sale. They didn't keep much. Lol. Then we went down to Darcy's for a party. We were only going to stay until 8:30, but had such a good time, we didn't leave until closer to 10:00. Jillian absolutely loves being in the pool! And she actually played with other kids, but was very happy when Kenny's brother Donovan got in the pool.
Thursday, we went to breakfast & ran a few errands & heading over to Richard & Joni's for a party & fireworks. I wasn't feeling well, but everyone had a good time.
There were a TON of fireworks!
Friday I still didn't feel well, but Chris & I worked on the girls room. Saturday Chris got the beds finished:
Sunday, I worked on trying to get the room back in order and doing laundry while chris cleaned out the garage. Neither of which I finished because I decided life was too short to try to clean and get stressed at my girls when I can't get it all done. So, we planted some herbs, played a little t-ball and walked up to the pond to feed the fish & ducks:

Skating party

Jillian striking a pose
Jillian and her BFF, Lena

Jillian had her first skating party tonight for her school. I am honestly beyond proud of her even if it was just because of a skating party. Her confidence in herself is really starting to show. She used to be shy and worry about everything (which there is still a small part
of her that still does worry), but she wasn't nervous about going skating for the first time at all. She fell down a lot and said it wasn't easy, but not once did she give up. She even told me that she didn't need me out on the floor with her. She ended up doing pretty well at the end. She called me out on the floor once to try to help her learn how to skate, but then her friends came up to her and she told me I could go off the floor again. She even started to try to dance a little, which was very cute. They did the hokie pokie as the last song and she did some of that, but some others were skating around, so off she went & skated by herself. (Even the principal got out and did the hokie pokie.) She asked if we could go back and go skating again over summer break. She said she even wants a pair of roller skates for her birthday. My little girl is growing up too fast, but like I said, I'm very proud of her, even if it was just because of a skating party.

Love these little girls so much......
Carleigh has been going potty on the potty pretty consistently since Tuesday. It's like she just decided she wanted to do it! She has been telling Chris and I both out of the blue that she loves us. So sweet, but has been being quite defiant and talking back to me especially.  Hopefully, this is just a phase that will
Pass quickly!!
Jillian can be such a sweet big sister sometimes. Yesterday we were out in the backyard & she heard carleigh inside crying. She dropped the rake she was using & ran inside (carleigh couldn't get out to the backyard with us). The other night she was consoling carleigh when her belly hurt. She only has 14 school days left until summer! She is starting to do such a great job reading. I can't believe her first school year is almost over. Amazing how fast time flies! She is becoming a busy little girl with gymnastics on Mondays and girls scouts on Wednesdays! But both Chris and I want both girls to be involved in something, so I guess that's just how life will be for awhile!
I had a great Mothers Day! I got to sleep til 9:00 and got breakfast in bed with gifts to boot. Not only do I have 2 great girls, but I have a pretty great husband. We went down to Darcy's for a couple of hours tonight for a Mothers Day get together. Not ready to go back to work tomorrow, but I don't have a choice!

Aquarium and sparky

Jillian's spring break was 2 weeks ago. We decided we would go to the Newport Aquarium for one of the days she was on Spring Break. So, we had Easter lunch, which my dad, my mom and Bob came to have with us. Then we headed down to Lawrenceburg to stay so we would be closer when going to Newport Aquarium. The hotel didn't have a pool so the girls got their bathing suits on and acted like they were swimming in the bathtub!! Lol. Then the next morning we got up and drove to Newport, Ohio to spend a few hours at the aquarium! We had a nice time. I wish now, we would have looked to see when the shows were so we could see some, but it was still pretty cool just walking around the aquarium. We drove straight home that day (after stopping In Greensburg to get the best pizza EVER at Pizza King).

Girls at the hotel in the bathtub.

Tuesday April 2, the girls and I got up, got Carleighs haircut, picked up Ellen and headed way up north to pick up a 9 week old Yorkie! I'm still not sure how it all happened, lol, but his name is sparky and he has meshed with our lives pretty well. Potty training is a little bit of a frustration, but he is too darn cute. I love snuggling with him while laying on the couch at night. He has definitely brought joy to our lives. Jillian won't put the poor dog down sometimes. It's taken a little while, but he is starting to live up to his name! He loves being outside!! It is definitely a learning experience!!

The ride home with Sparky.

Abscessed tonsil

On Sunday, March 31, 2013, my throat started hurting, which I didn't think much about it really. I normally get strep throat this time of year, so I was assuming that is what was happening. It kinda came & went & some form of pain reliever normally helped. We went to Newport Aquarium on Monday April 1 & went and got Sparky on Tuesday, and still it hurt but nothing too serious. Then on Wednesday, it started to bother me more and I thought maybe it was a canker sore, just because of how it felt. Thursday, I could barely eat or drink because it hurt so bad. I showed some of the girls at work and they were disgusted by the look of my tonsil. Lol. They encouraged me to go show Dr. Bozic, which I did. He said it looked like a pus pocket & didn't say much else. He asked if it hurt & I said YEAH!! I told him I thought maybe it was strep throat, so he wrote me a script for an antibiotic just in case. I took 3 doses of it that night, hoping it would make me feel much better in the morning. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It still hurt Friday and I felt like I had been hit by a truck. So, I didn't go into work and just planned on laying on the couch. I decided about 11:00 to call my doctor because it still hurt so bad. I couldn't get in to see him but after 3:00 they have an Express Clinic. So I went at 3:00. They of course, did a strep culture but it came back negative. Dr. Abnerathy, the Dr. I saw at the Express Clinic said they had been seeing sore throats and it just turned into a cold, she thought maybe that is what was going to happen with me until she looked at it. She thought maybe it was an abscess by the exam. She went to get another Dr (who I actually my normal Dr) and he said he thought it was an abscess also. Which meant, it more than likely would have to be drained. They sent me down for CT scan, which was pretty uneventful. I left & about an hour or so later, I got a call from my Dr. saying it was an abscess and to go to the ER. She said she didn't want it to get bad at 3:00 a.m. And me have to go anyway &; have to wait forever. She had called ahead to let them know I was on my way. Thankfully, my mom was coming over anyway, so when she got there, Chris and I headed to the ER. They got me hooked up to an IV and gave me morphine, a steroid and Zofran. Then they had me do a lidocaine nebulizer, which didn't seem to numb me much. By the time the Dr. came back in, I was feeling pretty good though because of the morphine. But nothing helped with the excruciating pain I felt when he drained the abscess. It hurt so bad!! I have been through some painful times, but this would rank right up there with the others. Chris said I about broke his hand by squeezing it so hard. I was so relieved when he said he was done, until he followed that up by "for now." I had been crying but that's really when the tears started. I'm not sure what changed his mind, but thankfully, he came back and said he wasn't going to do anymore. He referred me to an ENT to go see the next week. They gave me an IV antibiotic and more morphine & sent me home with a prescription for an antibiotic.
I went and saw the ENT the ER doctor recommended on Tuesday. He said there was only a 10% chance of the abscess coming back after I take my full course of antibiotics. He said we would try to avoid removing the tonsils because it is a pretty painful experience for an adult. I told him Friday night in the ER was a pretty painful experience. The ENT told me to just call him if I think the abscess starts coming back after my antibiotic.
Yesterday was the last day of my antibiotic. I feel good. Every once in awhile, especially in the morning when I yawn, but so far, so good. Let's just cross our fingers it doesn't come back, although, it would be good to have it happen this year because I met our deductible with that little visit to the ER.

Fun night out

Some girls from work and I went out last night for Lindsay's 21st birthday! We had so much fun! It was definitely a much needed night out. We started off at Old Spaghetti Factory and had yummy Italian food. Then we walked down the street to a tailgating party put on by a country radio station and listened to a local band for a few minutes. Then we headed to Cadillac Ranch for the birthday celebration. We had so much fun. It was a little slow going at first, but it finally picked up. Both Lindsay and Jessica tried the mechanical bull without much success LOL. Then we went over the part of the bar where they have a DJ. And we danced and danced. It was so much fun!! The most I have had in awhile!! And shocking enough, I didn't get completely wasted, I was feeling good, but I wasn't drunk!!

Lindsay, me and Alisa drinking a Washington Apple shot. Yummy, yummy.
Alisa and I before we went out for the night.
Marlana, Dana and I before we went out.

Today

I took Jillian and Carleigh to Build A Bear today. We will not be doing that on a regular basis, it was EXPENSIVE!! Even after gift cards and a coupon. And it wast necessarily the animals that were expensive, it was the accessories!! I really could have probably gotten out of there cheaper had I not thought Carleigh needed to have everything equal to Jillian. It isn't like Carleigh even cares!! But they love the animals they made there. They both got cotton candy scents put into them & they smell wonderful!!
Then Jillian went and got a hair cut at a salon. She was a little nervous because it is something new, but as soon as we got there, she went to the bathroom and she thought it was fancy. Then the stylist came and got her and off they went. I heard them talking quite a bit which made me happy since she had already said she was going to be shy. Then after the haircut, they took her over and she got some makeup put on. Which she thought was so cool!! She said she wanted that place to be the new place she goes for her hair. Which is good because it is cheaper than Cookie Cutters and the stylist was so nice and a perfect fit for Jillian. The stylists at CC never seem happy!!
So, all in all, it was a good day! I'm exhausted and ready to call it a night!!

Things I love about my girls

Love watching Carleigh dance
Love listening to her "talk back" to the TV
Love the way she puts her arm around my neck when she is laying with me at night.
Love when she hugs me, she pats my back
She tries to whisper to me and makes no sense
Love how she "shakes her booty"
She loves to cuddle
She loves to make people laugh
Love when she sleeps on my chest (except for when it is numerous nights in a row)
She's 2.5 and could care less about going potty on the potty.

Love watching how Jillian takes care of Carleigh and how much they love each other.
Love the fact that Jillian loves to listen to me read.
She has her first crush on Ross Lynch "Austin" from Austin &Ally ( and Kingston too)
Loves stretchy pants but not jeans
Would rather be naked than anything else
Loves movies, doing crafts, baking and running around (just like her Granny & Nana)
If she gets sick it's for a few hours instead of days like most people
Her memory absolutely astounds me!
She has been singing Firework by Katie Perry at the top of her lungs over and over again. It is so funny, but after awhile annoys Chris
Has lost her 2 bottom teeth
Got glasses around Thanksgiving and has done a great job wearing them and taking care of them
She is very sensitive.
Woke up last night, late, and hollered for us. Chris went to her and all she wanted was for him to turn up her radio because Austin was on. It had to have been around midnight!!

I love how they know to turn off TV when it's time to eat & they know that we almost always sit together for dinner!
Jillian is the mother hen, Carleigh is the funny one (although Jillian is quite comical in her own rite).
I love how they love their daddy. It's so special to me that they love him!!
