Just Jillian.

Firday night, Chris rented movies, so after Jillian went to bed, we laid on the couch and watched "Pride and Glory" and "Obsessed". The first one was a little confusing, but I caught on eventually and it ended up being a good movie. Obsessed was pretty good.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday my lovely daughter was up before 6:00 a.m. I tried to get her to go back to sleep Friday & Saturday, but it was pointless. We didn't even leave the house at all on Saturday until 7:30ish to go to a surprise birthday party for Darcy. Chris went down to pick up Tara so she could watch her, but Jillian went nowhere. She kept asking to go bye-bye. How sad is that? LOL. We didn't stay at Darcys party for too long because we had a family reunion for the Holland's to go to early on Saturday down near Columbus, Indiana.
Chris & I at Darcys birthday party

When Jillian got up early on Sunday, I tried to get her back to bed, but not for very long. I decided to just go to Dunkin Donuts. I bought 6 yeast donuts & some chocolate milk for Jillian. I planned on bringing them home to eat, but Jillian wanted to stay & eat. So, we sat there while she ate a donut & drank her milk. She said at one point in time "I tooted." I shushed her because we were in public, but that just added fuel to the fire & she kept saying it over & over again. Stinker, literally. haha
We had a good time at the reunion. It was a long day, but thankfully there were a bunch of toys & things to keep Jillian and the kids busy.

We got home around 5:00. I made dinner & that was about it. I was sooo tired. I drove home from the reunion while Chris & Jillian napped. I almost fell asleep too. I was so ready for Jillian to go to bed so I could relax. I slept wonderfully until 3:30 a.m. when Jillian came in to our room. I put her back in bed and thought it was going to be a disaster, but she fell right back to sleep. And didn't wake back up til 7:00. Hopefully her sleep pattern is back on track. Momma needs sleep!

Big girl bed

Well, if anyone is following Jillians big girl bed journey, last night went perfect. I went to dinner with ellen, so Chris put her down. He said he put her down at 7:30, when I got home a little after 8:00 she was already asleep. She didn't get up AT ALL!!! Yipee. It is 7:15 a.m. and she is just now getting up. When I went to check on her before my shower, her head was at the end of the bed. It looked like she was on her way out of the bed & just fell back asleep. Cute. Well, she is here on the couch with me wanting to watch Yo Gabba Gabba, so I better let her.

Why oh Why?

Why oh why did I say anything about Jillian sleeping in her bed?? She went to bed ok, but around midnight, she came crying into our room. I tried to let her sleep with us, but she tossed & turned. I had Chris put her back in her bed, but she completely flipped out. I have not slept well at all recently & really needed to get some sleep because I knew I had to get up early this morning to take my mom to the doctor. So, after fighting with her for a little bit, I just laid in bed with her. She seemed wide awake. Finally around 1:30, we both fell asleep. I went back into my bed around 5:00. And now I can't turn my head to the right because I slept on it wrong!!! Why oh Why?????

Jillians new bed

I am proud to announce that Jillian is doing well sleeping in her big girl bed. Last night, she didn't get out of the bed and was asleep in a 1/2 hour. Tonight, she only got up once and was asleep again in less than an hour. She is falling asleep faster in her big girl bed, than she did in her crib. I ran out to tan & Chris said he went in there to check on her & she had a book propped up on her belly "reading" it. When she heard Chris come in, he said she kept the book up & just looked around it at him. I never knew kids were so funny and enjoyable. She makes me laugh every day!!

Chris, Jillian & I went to the State Fair again on Wednesday. It rained a little and was hot, but we had a good time. She didn't really like the animals much more this time than the time just her & I went. I thought she was going to pet a baby pig, but she chickened out in the end. The baby pig was biting on my finger. It was so cute! We got an elephant ear & a lemon shake up at the end & boy was she on a sugar high on the way home.

Thursday, I went to my OBGYN. He is such a great guy. He said he expects to see me in the next couple of months due to pregnancy. I don't know about that, I guess we will just have to see what happens.
Last night, Chris went out, so Jillian & I went to Mc Donalds and came home & hung out. Our normal Friday night. What a life huh?
Today Jillian and I got up and went down to Darcys to transport my mom up to my dads. Then Jillian and I drove to Covington, IN to pick up my grandmother. Chris stayed home to return to the crib to Walmart & set up her big girl bed. When we got home, we took a very short nap & then hung out at home, once again. Chris left to go to Danny's bachelor party & Jillian and I hung out at home. I turned Mama Mia on & she seemed to really enjoy watching it. It was very cute watching her watch Mama Mia. I gave her a bath & she had a good time.
Then it was bed time. That was interesting. It only took 2 hours and a couple of stroking the face for her to finally conk out. She came out of her room a few times. At one point in time she came out saying she wanted to see Nana & Granny. When I took her back into her room, the bed was covered with books. So she was a quiet busy bee in her room for awhile. Hopefully tomorrow won't be too bad and I will have Chris home for him to help. Tonight was as bad as I thought, but it wasn't good either.

Tomorrow I am going over to my dads to have lunch with my mom, granny, Darcy & her family to have lunch for Darcys birthday. Then I am taking my grandmother back to Covington. So much for a weekend of not doing anything!!

weekend

Friday, we went to another swim party. It was a lot warmer than last week. Chris had his yearly golf auction, so he didn't go with us this time. We had a good time. Thank goodness for Danny because he helped with Jillian when I was done swimming, but she wasn't. It helped Danny too because he had no one to play with after PJ left. LOL. Jillian pooped twice while we were there. Dana says poop was floating in the pool, Holly says it was just flecks. So, I don't know what was actually floating in the pool, but something to do with Jillians poop. Thankfully, Shannon had an extra swim diaper because I only brought 2! Changing her diaper was an experience. Jillian kept wanting to play in the stall. Other than that, she was a good girl all night. I thought she would fall asleep on the way home, but I should have known better. She did fall asleep shortly after we got home & fell asleep. She slept til 9:00 which was nice.
Saturday, we didn't really do anything. Around 4:30, Chris took me over to Dana's for her bachlorette party. After he dropped me off, he took Jillian down to Bob & Lana's for the night. Chris had to golf early today & I figured I would want to sleep in after the bachlorette party so we asked them to watch her. We had a good time at the bachlorette party. We went to Sushi On the Rocks for dinner. Sushi was delish, service not so much. Then went to Ike & Joneses (however it is spelled). Then went to the late drag show at Talbott Street. I didn't get home until 3:00. So, THANK GOODNESS, Jillian wasn't at home.
I slept until 10:00ish. Cuddled with Chris for a while & reminiced on how we used to do that every Saturday before Jillian. He left for golf & I met, Bob, Lana, Tara, Sarah & Jillian at Old Country Buffet for lunch. Lana said Jillian slept from 10:00-10:00. What the heck??? She never does that for us. We came home & I had to fight a little for Jillian to nap. When she woke up, we just played while I hung up laundry. Jillian loves to sit on our toilet. She won't use hers at all. She still isn't actually pottying on it yet, but she looks so darn cute on the toilet. We watched a little bit of Kung Fu Panda & she went to bed.
It is almost 10:00 and I still have some laundry on the bed, so I better go finish so I can go to sleep. Because I am tired!

Non wordless Wednesday

I know it is supposed to be "wordless" Wednesday, but I don't have any pictures to download and it was a busy day so I thought i would actually blog instead.
Jillian was awful last night. I walked in the door from work & Chris had a pissy look on his face. He said she was bad whenever he picked her up from daycare. She threw a fit getting into the car seat. Which she does for me alot, but supposedly has never done it for him. Then when I got home, she wouldn't do anything we asked her to do. She said she wanted to take a shower with me instead of a bath. She was so rotten before we got in the shower, everything was no, no, no!! When we finally got in she flipped out & wanted out almost immediately because I dumped some water on her head & it got on a boo boo that was on her arm. Chris tried to give her a bath, but she didn't want that either. So she got back in the shower with me & did fairly well. When it was time for bed, she wanted to sleep in our bed. Well, it was 8:00 and Hell's Kitchen was on, so I thought maybe she would fall asleep in our bed while I watched H.K. in there. BIG mistake. She actually enjoyed watching it because they were cooking. So, when I tried to put her down after H.K. she kept climbing out of her crib. So we tried to get her to sleep on the couch while I watched Big Brother. Another big mistake. I got so fed up, I finally put her in her bed & she FLIPPED out. She finally screamed herself asleep after 10:00, but got so worked up she messed up her breathing. So when Chris & I went to bed we took her with us because when she does that to herself, it scares us a little that she is going to stop breathing. We know, more than likely, she won't, but it still scares us. I finally put her in her bed around 11:00. She was bad in the evening, but it was also my fault because I wanted to watch my shows & didn't want to deal with putting her to bed. I was a bad mommy.
She only slept til 7:00 this morning!! We were supposed to go to the state fair with Dani & Brooklyn, but I told Dani last night, I wanted Jillian to sleep in. So I ended up cancelling on her. I hate being that person, but I was this time. I thought this morning was going to continue to be the way last night was because Jillian was whiny when she first woke up, but she got better. Just her & I ended up going to the fair around 10:00. We saw all the animals, but she didn't really like them. She seemed scared to even walk by them. The only ones she really kind of liked were the piggies. We walked around for quite awhile & then headed home. I am glad we ended up going today. Even if it was just the 2 of us.
Tonight, we went up to visit my mom. She isn't doing too well. They said she is anemic so they had to give her a blood transfusion. She said they are concerned with her bleeding internally because they don't know why she would be anemic all of a sudden. She is feeling very down today. I think seeing Jillian, Chris & I may have helped a little, but not much. I had to remind her that she has been feeling better. She looked & sounded great on Sunday when Jillian & I visited. Chris called her yesterday & he said she sounded good then too. So, I think she is just feeling bad today because she has flu like symptoms. I'm hoping that is the case at least. I also think she needs to get on an antidepressant. It may help. I know she has alot going on in that head of hers. She was crying earlier today saying she is just sick of being in pain & not feeling well. It made me cry! She is such a strong woman that I know it is bad when and if she ever cries.

On Friday, we went out to Splash Island in Plainfield for a pool party for Avon Orthodontics. It was rainy & overcast when we first got there. And unfortunately, it hadn't been extrememly warm out all day, so the water was freezing. Jillian went down the slide a couple of times. I had to practically push her down the first time, but after that, she was fine. Chris got in the water for awhile, but said the water was so cold it physically hurt his man parts. LOL. We got out shortly after because Jillians lips were shivering. They had a bunch of snacks to give out. We went & ate some of the junk food and just hung out with some of my co-workers. It was a good time, but cold. Jillian fell asleep shortly after getting home.
On Saturday, Jillian and I went to the hospital to see my mom. She did a much better job at St. Vincent, than she ever did when we visited her at RHI. The nurses were just "gushing" over Jillian. She was looking pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself.
After nap time, we went out to Heritage Lake. A sub hygenist that works for us periodically invited us all out for a hog roast. Danny & Dana rode with us. Dani, PJ, Brookly & their nephews met us out there. We had such a good time. We ate and drank a little. Chris, PJ & Danny played in a cornhole tourney, but none of them won. I think they had a good time playing though. We walked over to the beach to watch a ski show & the kids played in the water. We weren't excpecting to be playing in the water, so the kids were still in their clothes. Dani ended up taking Brooklyns diaper off, but I didn't want to mess with all the sand being in EVERY crevice, so I kept her diaper on. It was hilarious seeing how it just ballooned out. She looked like she had ALOT of junk in her trunk. LOL. Dana, Jillian & I walked over during the cornhole tourney & watched a band play. Jillian was so cute dancing. I tried to download a video of her, but it never uploaded. I was exhausted because I was running around all day. Jillian fell asleep just as we were getting home. We had such a good time & am so glad Kelly invited us out. Everyone was very nice.
Jillian must have been wore out too because she slept til almost 9:00 this morning. Woo hoo. I really didn't expect that at all. We got up & hung out for a little bit. I then went to do some running for my mom & went back up to the hospital. Her infectious disease dr. came in while I was there. And the news wasn't good. The dr. said the lower part of the incision is being held together by the stitches, but the incision is opening up again!!! I sure hope my mom gets better soon. She can't seem to catch a break. She deserves to be better & living life to the fullest. I know she hates laying in that bed & missing out, not only on her life, but her families life. I know she is getting fed up with everybodys encouraging words. It does get old after awhile. But before the dr. came in, she said she was feeling alot better today & she is sitting up for as long as possible when she can. So, at least, she is feeling a little better. It will be 3 months on the 15th!
When I got home & Jillian woke up from her nap, we left to go back out to the Aquatic Center because it was HOT today & I felt like going there since there is so much for her to do. Unfortunately, it was full to capacity. I felt so sorry for Jillian because as we were pulling in she asked me to put on her shoes & wanted her towel. Then I had to break the news to her that we couldn't go. She started crying, so I called Ellen to see if we could go to her pool. She said we could, so we headed over to her neighborhood. We had a good time. Jillian was cracking me up because she would get out of the pool to jump in & do this little dance with her arms before she jumped into my arms. It was quite comical. Another lady was watching her & laughing. She told me later that she was so cute. She even was singing the ABC's before she jumped in. We went to DQ afterwards. Unfortunately, the Tagalong blizzard, wasn't as good as I was expecting it to be, gosh darn it!! We came home, hung out & ate dinner. Jillian said she wanted to take a shower instead of a bath. That never happens and of course, once we tried to get her into the shower, she freaked. So, I got in with her & she just stood at the far end of the bathtub where the shower wouldn't get her. It was actually fun. She got some shower gel & washed my face, got shampoo & washed my hair & then conditioned it. It was actually alot of fun, but she never got close to the water coming out of the shower head. lol.
When it was time for bed, she wanted to sleep in our bed. I tried to get her to go down in there, but she kept moving around. At one point in time, I had my head resting on her head & she kept licking my nose. It was so hard not to laugh!! Chris said today when he put her down for her nap, she started in our bed, but got down. So he put her in her crib. A few minutes later he heard her talking so he peeked in to see what she was doing & she was in her rocking chair!! The little stinker climbed out of bed & was in the rocking chair! She is so humerous.
We are going to the state fair on Wednesday, another swim party on Friday, and I have Dana's bachlorette party on Saturday. Busy, busy! And it isn't slowing down anytime soon.

Thankful thursday

I am thankful for Nyquil!! Both Chris and I are sick with colds & Nyquil knocked my butt out last night! I didn't even go to work this morning because I felt so bad & was tired. Ellen took Jillian to daycare for me because I felt so awful. I'm glad she did because as soon as they left, I fell asleep on the couch and didn't wake up til 12:30. I fell asleep last night at 9:30 last night. I only took one tonight, so hopefully it won't knock me out as bad. I just have a busy weekend so I have to be healthy! So, then again, I am thankful for Nyquil!

Jillians checkup

I took Jillian to her 2 year check up today. It is 2 months late, but we just got medical insurance on Saturday & the doctor said it wouldn't matter to wait 2 months. She weighed 32.2(94%) , which is 3.7 lbs more than at her 18 mth check up 8 months ago. She is 35 1/2 (84%) inches tall, which is 2.5 inches taller than at her 18 mth check up. Her head is 19 3/4 (97%) which is only a 1/4 more than at her 18 mth check up. Dr. Bender was concerned for a little while at either her her 12mth or 18mth check up because her head seemed to be growing more rapidly than what she liked to see. So, her head only growing a little, was nice. The dr. didn't seem too concerned at all.
Jillian does still have her soft spot which the dr. said was unusual because it normally closes up by 18 mths. It is just something we will have to keep an eye on, she said. I don't know what it would mean for it not to close up. I have heard of soft spots closing too soon, but not late. So, I guess we will just see what happens at her 3 year check up. But now that I am typing this, I may look into seeing if she wants to see her sooner than that due to her soft spot.
Chris & I were concerned about Jillian's left food turning in when she walked. Especially Chris because the same thing happened to him when he was little. Dr. Bender said they don't use braces or put feet on the wrong feet anymore to try to correct this problem. She said they did studies & the studies showed that either way, the problem would improve. The dr. said it will probably improve as her hip muscles get stronger.
She got 2 shots, Hib & MMR and boy did she cry. I felt so sorry for her. I didn't have much of a problem when she was an infant, but for some reason it was harder today.
According to the info paper they give you for 24 mths, she is a normal 2 year old. I think her vocabulary may be a little better than it suggests. It says they should say about 50 words & talk in simple 2 word phrases (like.."me go"). Well, I think she says more than 50 words & uses more than 2 word phrases. Chris thinks so too. Maybe we are wrong and just think more of her since she is our daughter. Granted, sometimes what she says is a little hard to understand (especially for Chris), but I still thinks she says more than 50 words. And she is so polite. Saying, please, thank you, excuse you (when daddy burps) and bless you, whenever someone sneezes. So, overall, her check up went well with no concerns!
We also got a letter from daycare that her curriculum fees are due on august 21! I can't believe my 2 year old is going to have "curriculum". She already seems to have learned so much from just going up to the 2's room 2 months ago. My baby isn't a baby anymore!!! It makes me happy, but sad at the same time!

Sunday, August 2, 2009

This week went by so fast at work. Friday came & went so quickly.
I picked Jillian up at daycare & I took her to McDonalds because Chris wasn't going to be home that night. He went to Greensburg to golf Friday late afternoon & had to be down there again on Saturday to play in the club chapionship, so we decided it would just make more sense to stay the night. Jillian went to sleep & I watched "He's Just Not That Into You." It was kind of a depressing move, in my opinion. But I may have PMS, so that could be the reason I think that. LOL.
On my way to bed, Jillian woke up crying, so I got her and brought her to bed with me, so I wasn't so lonely in my king size bed. On one hand it was a mistake. I was heading to bed around midnight & didn't sleep well the entire time because she was kicking, flip flopping around & hitting me in the face while she was sleeping. On the other hand, it was sweet when I first put her in there beccause she had been crying & I could lay next to her & just wipe her tears away. I cuddled with her for awhile, but then she started moving around. So, I didn't sleep well because of that, but also, I was a little nervous she was going to suffocate on one of our many pillows.
She woke up bright & early at 6:30 a.m. We went for a walk around 8:00ish because it was a beautiful morning. Then I took her to Ellens around 9:00 so I could try to clean the house. I stuck around Ellens for a BLT & headed home. It sounds like Jillian had a great time. They went to a T-ball game, played at the park & then played with Ellens nephews. She didn't really want to leave whenever I went to pick her up. She played in the sandbox for a little & then went & jumped on the trampoline for a few minutes.
I tried to clean while she was gone, but it was going very slowly. I got the kitchen clean & most laundry done. Now, of course, the kitchen is a mess again. Why bother? We got home & played with daddy for a little bit before she went to bed. Jillian was asleep by 8:00. I don't know when the last time she was asleep that early. Ellen & her family wore her out. Chris & I watched Saw 5 and then we pretty much went to bed.
This morning we got up and the fam went to Walmart. Jillian took a nap & I went up to visit my mom at the hospital. I stopped at Marsh & got some yummy sushi. I was going to get a prego test because I am 8 days late (2 previous tests this week have been negative), but I couldn't find any, so I decided to get some sushi. It sounded so good, I couldn't even wait to get home to eat it. I started eating it in the car. Haha. Boy, was it good!!
Then I texted Ellen to see if she would want to go to the pool. We went to the pool for about an hour. Jillian, of course, loved it. She did so well in the water. I remember last year when we went, she had just started to learn how to walk & I was scared to death she was going to fall & not be able to get back up & drown. I was able to be more laid back this time. Except when she was outside the pool, I was afraid she would fall & hit her head or face. We got in the big pool for about 5 minutes, but then the lifeguards called an adult swim, so we had to get out. I had to bribe Jillian to get out when it was time to go home with my "mommy juice" which was diet Dr. Pepper.
We came home, I cooked dinner, Jillian watched Shrek, Chris did some work. While dinner was cooking, Jillian & Chris played with a sheet. Chris was trying to act like a ghost when he was supposed to be folding the sheet. So Jillian went & attacked him. They played on the floor under the sheet and had a good time. We ate, watched Shrek again & then it was almost bathtime.
Jillian has been sitting on the potty alot, but not actually going potty. Well........tonight, she was sitting next to the potty while I sat on the couch. All of a sudden, she jumped up & started to sit down. As she was sitting down, poopy came out. YEAH!!! I was so excited, I jumped around, clapped & praised her so much. Once daddy came out (after going poopy in the potty too. lol) he did the same thing. It kind of freaked her out right after she did it. We went into the bathroom & dumped the potty & wiped, but she seemed a little scared. I was so excited I gave her M&M's, Chris gave her Sweetarts. Then a few minutes later, Jillian comes out of her bedroom saying "poopy poopy". I asked if she went poopie in her room & she said yes. And she wasn't lying. She had pooped on the floor!! Oh, well, it is a start. She took a bath & when she got out, I wrapped her up in the towel and sang "You are my Jillian". She went into get her teeth brushed by daddy, came back out here & put her sippy cup in the fridge. Then she went in to say goodnight to daddy & put her hands up in the air & said "roar". So cute. She gave him a hug & kiss, came out & climbed up on the couch with me. I sang "you are my Jillian" a couple of times & she said "night night". I said "what???" she said "night, night. face", went into her room & climbed up on the crib. She got in & let me "face". when I was done, she asked where daddy was & said she wanted him to come in there. So he did. That was the last we heard from her. She actually fell asleep without another word. It was a little later than 8:00 but not by much. She is either getting sick or just had an exhausting weekend. I'm sure she will be up at the butt crack of dawn tomorrow (oh joy for me:( ).
She has her 2 year check up tomorrow. 2 months late, but our insurance just kicked in on Saturday & our Pedo said she would be fine til now. I told Chris I don't want her to get shots. When she was a baby, it was alot easier, but I am not looking forward to her getting shots, if she has to have any!!! Wish me luck!
