OB appointment

Tonight is Chris's first golf league game, so Nana picked Jillian up from daycare & they went to Steak N Shake. So, I have the house to myself for a few minutes & thought I would just write how my doctor appointment went today.
I gained 6 lbs, which he said not to worry about & he would tell me when & if I gain too much to & should start worrying. My BP was 117/78. I will have to see if I made any note on when my BP started to get high with Jillian. I was on bedrest with her for 2 weeks or so because my BP was high. And in the end, my doctor induced me a little early because of it. He said her heartrate was 160, which he said sounded like a girl. I told him she is a very active little booger. I have indegestion something awful & he said Pepcid AC is the best for it as long as it works. They don't like pregnant women using Pepto, but he said occasional use would be ok (not sure why no Pepto). Pepcid AC seems to work most of the time, so we will just stick with it for now. We did talk about birth control after the baby & he said we could discuss it more at my 6 week follow up appointment after the baby. Of course, I am the one that is going to have to do something to prevent future pregnancies because Chris is a wimp (LOL). My doctor said a vasectomy is 1/3 the cost of most forms of permanent or long term birth control, but I don't think that will change Chris's mind. Which is fine, I guess, as long as my insurance hopefully pays for most of whatever I have done. I would be fine with tubal ligation, but don't think I will be having a c-section, so I would prefer something a little easier. I need to do some research on something he told me about called Essure, which is permanent & done in the office. Anyway. I go back in 5 weeks (should be 4, but doctor is out of office) and will have glucose test done. I'm going to stay away from sugar & carbs the night before & the day of, so hopefully I will pass it. I don't want to have to do the 3 hour test again!!

The Easter pictures are a little delayed, but so is most of my life, LOL. Coloring the eggs actually held her attention alot more than what I had thought. Just this week, my mom bought some coloring for next year & Jillian wanted to color more eggs!

Jillian Easter morning.

Jillian & her new friend.

Jillian "found" this puppy out by the garage by our bushes. It has been there for years, but for some reason, she just decided she wanted to befriend it. She has carried around everywhere. We even had to take it into Dunkin Donuts last week. Her & Daddy have discussed getting a puppy, but I want no part of it especially with me having to take care of a 3 year old, a newborn & a 41 year old. So, for right now, this is the closest she is going to be getting to a puppy. Although, she told Grandma Lana this weekend that Daddy was buying her a puppy.
Jillian woke up on Thursday stating her ear hurt. She complained about it 3-4 times, crying out most of those times. So, my mom took her to the dr. and she has an ear infection. When I told jillian she was going to the dr. she told me "no, mommy. My ear is fixed." LOL. She doesn't like going to the dr. From what I heard, she was a little hesitant, but did good in the end.
She has been a pretty good girl recently. She got her crayons taken away tonight though because she colored on our in table right in front of me! On Wednesday, she colored on her wall & daddy told her if she colored on anything other than paper again, the crayons were gone. While looking in her room for crayons tonight, we found she colored on her white Easter purse, her Kai Lan doll & her weeble wobble castle. So, she has been a busy little girl with coloring!
No baby news. We still don't have a name & it drives me nuts!! I have an OB appointment this Thursday. I don't think any news will necessarily come out of it. I have been getting a little dizzy & have been having headaches, but my home BP wrist machine still shows my BP is low. After this OB appointment, I have to schedule for my glucose test. UGH! I sure hope I don't fail it. I do not want to have to go through the 3 hour test again!
I will try to update again next week.

I am 20 weeks today!!! I'm halfway through my pregnancy. I am so excited since most of you know, I never feel 100% when I am pregnant. Baby Holland moves alot when I am on the computer in the evening. I don't know if it is because I have a lap desk & it sits partially on my belly. Chris got to feel her move on Friday (4-2-10). Feeling the baby move is the best part of being pregnant. Except periodically she kicks me in my bladder & that is not a good thing. LOL. I feel her more strongly than I did Jillian, but my placenta this time is posterior so I'm sure that is why I'm feeling her move more strongly. I would like for Jillian to feel her move, but baby Holland is still sporadic, so I will need to wait a little longer. Jillian loves looking at the ultrasound pictures. She says they are her baby. She probably won't like her too much when she is here & is crying.
Jillian is becoming a handful. She did well at my last OB appointment. We had to wait for quite a while before we went back, so she was a little restless. Needless to say, it wasn't the picture perfect scenario I had playing in my head. But I think she thought it was pretty cool. We went to the museum on Wednesday (3-30-10). She was pretty good all day until it was time to leave. Then all hell broke loose. She just doesn't like to do anything she doesn't want to do! The scene she caused was just that...quite a scene.I just don't know how to handle her when she starts to flip out. I am going to have to figure it out though before I go insane!
We had a nice relaxing Easter. I put some candy filled eggs in the backyard outside our bedroom window. When she came in on Sunday I asked her if it was raining, so she would look out the window. She looked out the window & said something of the sort that there were eggs out there & that it was sooo cool (everything is "cool" these days). She just couldn't wait to get outside & get those eggs. Then everytime she opened the eggs, she would exclaim "CANDY!!" I loved seeing the innocence of it all. I told Chris I thought the excitment & innocence was the one of the best parts of being a parent. So cute.
So, I think that is a pretty good catch up.
